HENFIELD CC COMPETITION RULES

1. The Competition season will be the same as the club year - September to May.
2. The classes for competition entries shall be Projected Digital Images (PDI's) and Prints. The PDI competitions will be split into three groups - Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. The Print competitions will not be be split into groups.
3. For the monthly competitions, a member may submit up to 2 entries for each of the PDI and/or Print competitions. An image may be entered as a Print or PDI but not both. Each class will be judged separately. Each entry shall have been produced within the preceding 3 years (Exif date). The committee reserves the right to amalgamate classes if the number of entries is too small to allow separate competitions. A Print or PDI entered in a monthly competition shall not be entered in any subsequent monthly competition.
4. Competition subjects will be announced in advance. The aim is to have one PDI set subject and two PDI Open subjects per year. The print competitions will all be Open.
5. Members may submit 2 Prints and/or PDI's to each of the Annual Competitions. All entries for the Annual Competitions must have been produced since the end of the previous club year.
6. Prints may be of any size or by any process and may be trade or digitally processed. They must be mounted on 500mm by 400mm board of any colour. All entries must be the work of the competitor and clearly show a title and competitor's name on the reverse.
7. The judge will be asked to award marks out of a total of 20 for each entry. The judge's decision is final.
8. A member's total marks in each of the monthly competitions will be aggregated over the year and the member gaining the highest total marks will be awarded the annual trophies.
9. PDI entries must be submitted by e mail to the Competition Secretary at least one week prior to the competition date. PRINT entries may be submitted on the competition night but the title and member's name must be submitted by email to the Competition Secretary at least one week prior to the competition date.
10. The PDI image files must be saved as jpeg files. They must be no larger that 1400 pixels on the longest side of a landscape format or 1050 pixels tall for a portrait format. They should be attached to the email not included within the email. The email subject must indicate the competition that they are being entered into.
11. Every care will be taken with a member's entries but the Club cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to them.
12. Any member submitting PDI's or Prints to a club competition may be requested that their image be entered by the Club into any external competition. The member will be contacted prior to the final selection to check that the image complies with the rules of the external competition.

- The image files must be named in the following way:-
- 01 Image Title.jpeg for example 01 Brighton Pier.jpg
- (Image sequence)(single space)(image title)(dot) (file extension)
- The image title may include spaces as long as there is a single space between the sequence number and the start of the image title.
- The sequence number must start with a Zero i.e. 01, 02, 03 etc (not 1,2,3)
